Good Clean Fun

So, this is a new one for the kids.

We go to the North Dunes often enough and play, jump and slide down the sand slopes but yesterday the kids, along with a friend staying over, started sliding down head-first. Like otters. They thought it was the greatest thing.

It was hilarious. All in a row, swimming down the slope, half sliding, half pushing themselves along, my daughter flapping her feet like fins. They took turns going first, second and third. Over and over again.

It’s the kind of sandy clay, clay-ey sand that brushes right off after and you’d almost never know they were fully immersed in it. Which is good. Our friend has to go home tonight and I haven’t set up showers for them. It’s a bit of a process as I don’t have a shower room, nor hot running water. Just a bucket with a spigot hauled up into a tree.
